Second Province

The Second Province was united with the First via diplomacy nearly 900 years ago. The largest land province, Second's fertile grassland make it the agricultural centre of the Empire. Its mountain range, the Eight Sages, is home to most of the country's kobold settlements. A large desert in the province's centre was the target of an enormous irrigation and terraforming effort, and it now provides the country's supply of grain.
The urban settlements of the Second Province tend to be small, with most living in scattered villages and towns. Its capital is one of the smallest in the Empire, but centuries of investment mean that the province has well-established transport links. Its major river, the Li-yah, is the longest in the continent, and forms a vital component in Triton-Celestial trade.
