Warforged

Invented only thirty years ago, the sentient machinery of the warforged is designed with a combination of western engineering and eastern arcane genetic techniques, creating a perfect soldier for use both on the warfront and as enforcers in cities. While they are still uncommon, the use of warforged grows steadily, and they will soon outnumber hobgoblins as soldiers. They are considered stone caste slaves along with other constructed races, but their expensiveness and usefulness means they are usually treated with care, if not respect. When a warforged is no longer used in battle--either because it is too broken to work properly, too expensive to maintain, or now an outdated model--they are 'decommissioned,' essentially becoming freedmen. Warforged who are free tend to work as mercenaries.

Warforged Names

Warforged follow slave naming conventions, although they tend to have 'martial style' names like hobgoblins--with basic soldier type/number information, such as 'Infantry Five.' Warforged commissioned as guards by the wealthy might have more evocative or creative names.
