Faded

Before the Gap, no record of the Faded exists. They simply appeared around 3 AG, not long after Drift technology was gifted to mortals by Triune. Often depicted as a stumbling line of humanoids crumbling into ash, the Faded are a collective intelligence, speaking in thousands of whispering voices all at once.   It is believed that the Faded wished to share a great secret with the universe, but were cursed by the gods before they could speak. What remains is a remnant of that entity, whispering of things that have long since been forgotten, and that no one seems to understand.   The Faded are revered by scholars, and are considered the patron Saint of history.

Blessing of the Faded

Range: Single Source, Single Target
Action: Standard
Duration: Special (See Text)   When invoking the Blessing of the Faded, the caster's physical form and their belongings begin to crack, and then crumble apart into piles of ash. It isn't clear where the caster goes, or what this Blessing does.   It's presence been recorded only two times in the entirety of the Faded's existence. The first caster never returned, and eventually even the ash faded from the cosmos. The second burst from their remains like a phoenix, raving mad with terror. They committed suicide within 24 hours, after which their body crumbled into dust.   If the caster has received a Blessing of a Saint prior to the invocation, they cannot be killed by this ability.
