Season 5, Episode 2: "The Crimson Flash" Report
General Summary
The Dream Team logged out of the game, laying down to rest for the evening, beset by dreams of Qwen and Dr. Oculet, who retaliated against Hush for his crimes in Downlow. Isra shared her progress with Derrak, who was only moderately pleased due to the delay, and gave the Android her next message. Then, still exhausted by their contract with Valentina, the group dived back in, once again becoming the Starwatch.
While initially planning to explore the Library of the Arcanamirium, the Starwatch was interrupted by a missive from Knight Lieutenant Vicard, who reported that Euridice (his subordinate) had not checked in after her latest mission. Ez ran ahead, while the rest of the group stopped to drop Tommen off at Green Ridge, meeting at the Azlanti Keep.
Vicard relayed that Euridice had left two days prior, and was supposed to return the night before. Having failed to do so -- something very unlike her -- Vicard had requested Knights from his superior, Knight Commander Polish, but the request was turned down due to the ongoing war effort. However, he did not forbid Vicard from hiring Pathfinders, which gave Vicard license to enlist the Starwatch, who left immediately.
Fueled in part by a quest from the System, the party encountered a group of Goblin soldiers on Berengar Hill, one of which bore the Archive Stone, which it was using to repel the Swords of Absalom. However, our fair heroes were more than their match after a month of training, recovering the Archive Stone and taking Berengar Hill back from the Goblins. As Ez picked up the Stone, she saw visions of all the people inside, and Zandarul looked through her, striking something in Mist's mind (see What the Walker Stole From Me).
After some searching, the Starwatch found Euridice hiding under a cloak near the battlefield, injured by some massive slashing weapon, such as a greataxe or greatsword. Concerned, Ez stayed with her surrogate mother, returning to Azlanti Keep, while the rest of the team picked up Tommen, and went to scan the Library.
They spent many hours there, recovering several books of interest -- and in Styx's case, narrowly avoiding the Crypt Keeper -- but had no luck in finding the Glasswing. With the sun setting, they had no choice but to return to Starwatch Keep, where Gerald and Styx once again prayed to Asmodeus, receiving his next message. Then the Dream Team logged out, their exhaustion finally passed, and began their preparations for the Culinarium celebration.
