At the turn of the era, Rei's Light, an arbiter chosen by the church of Rei, was assassinated. Many problems afflicted the Reinillian Empire, but the death of its cherished leader sent the realm into chaos. It only took 12 years for the millennias long empire to come crashing down.

After two centuries of growing internal problems within the empire, it was only a matter of time before the Impiral Enflammen of Rei came to an end. The church had maintained a powerful empire in La Fantel(Continent) since 3447 2E, steadily gaining influence through conversion to the faith. It created a culture that strictly upheld their vision of Rei, and through fanaticism, the church spread like wildfire.
  This strict control, however, required a great deal of bureaucratic management. Eventually the boarders became too large for the empire to function properly. The Renillian Empire probably would've continued on under the churches rule for a century more, but the destruction of Felland spread mass panic across the globe. Splinter factions within the empire took advantage of the confusion and assassinate the Emperor Enflamme, sending the realm into civil war. After a bloody 12 years of battle, the empire divided into the many kingdoms and princedoms of La Fantel(Continent).
