History

It all started more than several centuries ago when a government joint project was created between the dominions of Gear Nation, Mutant Commonwealth and the Machine Collective to find a more efficient energy source. This project was known as Project Catalyst and it would greatly change the energy industry and how it would work. It was here that the most brilliant minds would work around the clock in to find a energy source that could maintain the every growing needs of the dominions.
Eventually this would lead them to go into the unexplored territory of quantum energy as a means of energy, yet it would not be enough and soon enough they began to head back an older form of energy in atomic energy. It was here that some of the scientist had the idea of combining groups with what knowledge they had and after many trials and errors, the first successful creation of Matrixium was achieved and after carefully studying the new energy source concluded that it would be the most effective form of energy to date.
However, some soon discovered that the energy itself would become highly unstable if not regulated and it was agreed that they would petition the government to through regulate it. It was not until the military conducted a field test in deep space did they realize the power of the energy really had, after placing it on a isolated asteroid and waited for it to become unstable. In large amounts it exploded with a more powerful than any nuclear weapon ever could thousands of years ago and destroyed the asteroid. It became clear the if they energy fell into the wrong hands it would cause global annihilation and since that time it has only been under the control of the dominions since.

Matrixium is mainly used as an source to power to settlements and vehicles being to las for long periods of time.
