Adelia

The Costal City of Riches

"The endless sea is but a trial to us all. It awaits adventure, wealth, and opportunity yet untold."

Merchants of Adelia

Culture

The ocean is home to the natives of Adelia. For generations, many prideful shipbuilders and Fishers would be raised under the sounds of tiding waves.
While many of them are foul-mouthed, overbearing, and brash, they bear a welcoming presence to any and all. Grown near the sea, these individuals have made it their livelihoods live near the ocean and call it their home.
While material goods have changed the people slightly after their induction to the Aliech Kingdom, the citizens of Adelia still hold themselves to the traditions of Aquarius, and their native culture.

People of Adelia

Dockworkers or Fishers

Many of the residents are either Dockworkers or Fishers given their close proximity to the ocean. Skilled at their jobs, many of their families have been tasked to do these jobs for generations. As a result, many of them are tightly knit and know each other quite well on a first-name basis.
Occasionally, they find themselves conglomerating in a large union against the Merchants Guilds exploits from time to time.

Merchants of Adelia

Those who have transformed Adelia from a minor fishing village to the bountiful trading harbor today. These Merchants established themselves during the expeditions of the Aliech Kingdom to new continents. Vying for power, the various Merchant guilds would rally themselves into the land for influence over the soon-to-be-established trading port.
These Merchants would find themselves to be in control of Adelia, as they play one of the most prominent parts in the economy of the Aliech Kingdom's exports and imports from overseas.

History

A former fishing village that survived the Battle of Mo'ra due to its distance from the invasion of the Fomorians. Originally, it was quite a small and tightly-knit village where it would be relatively self-sufficient in its survival. Through many generations of hard work and labor, the land would soon grow to an abundant size, where it would garner interest from the Aliech Kingdom.
After many conferences between the two regions, Adelia would be integrated into the Aliech Kingdom by the addition of provisional support. Through infrastructural support and upkeep by many of the affluent from Grehearth, Adelia would flourish into the extraordinary mercantile harbor it is today.
While its ports are many mercantile-based, there are a few combative vessels made to deter the native sea creatures. Other humanoid natives travel to Adelia to aspire for new paths in life. Such individuals are found from the lands of Eri and Nexus. A population of Gnolls, Elves, Orcs, and Nexus residents are found occasionally in these ports nowadays.

Government

Ran in co-ownership by the Provisional Governor from the Aliech Kingdom and the Merchants of Adelia.
