Caster's Insignia

Many if not all modern casters retain a form of insignia that reflects their heritage, lineage, faiths, bonds, pacts, or more. All of these Insignias are vital to composing spells and linkage to the Well of the Aether and the usage of Erg .   All insignias are approximately the size of a character's palm width and length. It is always visible on a person's body if not concealed. They can be concealed with clothing, magical items/properties, or skills. The latter being the more expensive option.

Types of Insignas

Arcane Insignias   Individuals retain the knowledge and powers obtained in a generation and are often passed down through their family. Many of these are given to their oldest son, but in rare cases, some may be given to a daughter or a distant relative. When an insignia is removed from an individual and applied to another person's insignia—or a non-familial individual bearing no insignia- some of the knowledge of the spells can be lost in transition. Henceforth, the transfer of arcane spells is typically only given to family members for arcane casters. These are mostly known as the most common of insignia within Iberia.     Bloodline Insignias These are given due to a heritage that the creature may have a direct lineage to or some form of connection to one. For example. If a person had dragon's blood in their veins due to their lineage, this may lead to them unlocking their potent spellcaster abilities as a spellcaster. As a result, they would have a dragonic insignia.     Druidic Insignias are bestowed by the power of the Spirtuas and Primodials that govern the lands, or other creatures or diety that governs that form of nature. These are blessings of the world that trusts their powers and their faith to protect their respective beliefs or lands.     Sacred Insignias are given one within the church of their respective covenant for their faith, or bestowed by a deity themselves. Those who are shown to have proven their faith by doing their diety's wish and, or desires are bestowed upon a more intricate insignia.     Patron Insignias are bestowed upon them via a contract in exchange for their powers. The contractors perform an action to appease their patron for their blessings.
Insignia Description and Type
Arcane Intricate designs, often varied and regal in design.
Bloodline Similar to the creature of the Bloodline.
Druidic Typically regarding nature.
Sacred Resembles the faith or diety that they follow.
Patron Resembles the patron that they follow.

Style and Design

The placement and style of the insignia vary from person to person. Some may bear it on their arms, others their feet, and even their foreheads and backs. Styles vary between animistic designs, intrinsic shapes, and/or levels of following a faith. Those who bear an insignia that is highly ornate and detailed are typically powerful casters in direct contrast to their combat abilities, and possibly even social status.

Rare Forms of Insignias

On rare occasions, there may be individuals that bear the signs of an Insignia not known commonly in the world of Iberia. Very few have been sighted or even documented. A sample would be an individual who bears a Deictic Insignia, akin to a diety's own avatar. While there is little documentation, it is agreed upon by many that they do exist.
