Culture

  With immense foreboding structures with ample quantities of wealth with its lands, Erskin can be regarded to be the Jewel of The Aliech Kingdom. Blessed with a bountiful location of commerce between all trading routes in the eastern part of Aliech, much of its wealth can be attested as such to that.   Considerable amounts of its residents are native to the region for hundreds of years with vast amount of wealth. Some of which have been left unclaimed after many wars and disputes. The region would be anointed as "Vaults" by the gnomes who designed them. The Vaults are large cavernous mechanisms of magical and scientific wonders that contain a vast amount of wealth.   Created to protect the treasuries of various wealthy individuals of Erskin, the Vault's technology has been lost over the years. However, this has not stopped interest in them. As there has been a great resurgence of tourism by adventurers in Erskin regarding the Vaults. After the governer Farhim Goldgift began hiring adventurers to crack through the Grand Vaults of Erskin, this led to the ushering in a new breed of adventurers known as Vault Delvers. These Vault Delvers would usher a new form of industry and career pathways for civilians and adventurers alike within Erskin.  

People of Erskin

Citizens

  Many of the original citizens have been cast aside from the inner regions of Erskin. Many left for new lands such as Grehearth for better opportunities. Those who stayed are typical of those who sell their services to the nobility of Erskin.

Gnomes

  Much of the architecture and magically constructed buildings were due to the high population of Gnomes in the land. As a prominent land where Gnomes originate, many of them occupy the majority of wealthy nobility in Erskin.   They continue to serve the populace by providing and improving their magical techniques, some of which have served Erskin for generations. Much of which is seen in the Grand Vaults.

Nobility

  Often associated as money-grubbers, the Nobility of Erskin is known to be one of the richest and wealthiest hoarders in the Aliech Continent. Owning enormous estates and massive bounds of lands, many of its Nobility have lived here for generations, slowly consuming the lands near their domains.   They occupy and play an integral role in the development of developing regions that The Aliech Kingdom has integrated into their lands. Vault Delvers

  Pillaging through the Vaults of Erskine is a mighty task in itself. It has drawn adventurous folks from across the lands to seek the riches and wealth it could provide.   Aptly named the Vault Delvers, they would be a class of private civilians who make their way through the Motherlodes, breaking through the Vaults for their riches.

History

    Erskin was once the former capital of The Aliech Kingdom . After the Battle of Mo'ra, it was later moved Grehearth. While Erskin was abandoned reluctantly during the sieges, the defenses laid intact. Fomorian forces and banditries were unable to penetrate through the majority of the structures.   After the incident had ended and the land was reclaimed by its citizens, the locks on the Vaults were enabled. This led to them being sealed shut for many years, as many would attempt to break through, to no avail. It was only through many troubling years of tinkering with the gate that it was eventually decrypted and unlocked. However, its defenses laid intact after hundreds of years.   As a result, they would require individuals to break through its defenses to reclaim what was once their wealth. About half of its vault remains reclaimed, but the inner second half proves to be the most difficult, and most problematic of them all. Those that dare venture into it, seem to never survive.   There are regions of Vaults that lay unreclaimed called the Mother Lodes. They bear unfound riches and treatures from the Golden Age of Iberia from the aftermath of the Battle of Mo'ra. While the families that owned them have long since passed away, they are still technically claimed by the Government of Erskin, and the Aliech Kingdom. Though, this has stopped few from attempting to do so.
