Hachiman

"The Eight Pillars"


Biography

  Worshipped by devout bands of those who followed the path of Bushido, Hachiman is a spiritual divinity that embodies their way of life. Bearing a semblance of a great warlord wielding various weapons, they are known to be a master of all and any weapons.   Hachiman is heavily worshipped in the lands of Kirinokuni, but is known to be worshiped even outside of its origin continent.      In recent times during the reign of Council of Xin, a substantial quantity of their shrines has been defaced, destroyed, or replaced entirely. While their presence has dwindled in recent times, they are still known to bear numerous devout followers who idolize Hachiman to this very day.   Many seek the wisdom and power that this divine possess. As simple as bearing a symbology or uttering its name in battle attests an individual to great trials that Hachiman offers. Those that embody Hachiman's beliefs are subsequently granted unparalleled strength to overcome the odds. Through means of spiritual or divine powers, it is unknown how this strength manifests, for it is always different for every person.   Surprisingly, Hachiman is even worshipped by fishers. As fishing is considered a battle of warriors against the ocean, many would pray to Hachiman in earnest for power and skill to over these trials. There are many who deem Hachiman's origins to be a simple fisherman who before they became a devout warrior and famed cultural authority.   Hachiman was ushered as a valiant and noble divinity that instilled a lifestyle known as Bushido. In layman's terms, it is often referred to as the Warrior's Way and is considered Hachiman's Law. It is a way of life that individuals of the Samurais would abide by.   To heed the creed of the Warrior's Way that reinforced one's practice in literature, loyalty, swordsmanship, and other tenants. Those that abided by the path of Bushido, were respected greatly and rewarded with great strength. Those who failed to do so were shamed by family and foe alike, and shunned by the divinity as a direct consequence.   Followers who attest to Hachiman and the code of Bushido believed that they would be deemed righteous. By upholding prosperity, inciting literature, loyalty, and self-sacrifice they would be deemed noble in the eyes of Hachiman.
