The passing of the former ruler of the Versailles Kingdom triggered a conflict, setting off a massive power struggle among numerous contenders vying for the vacant throne in the absence of an apparent heir. Legitimate claimants were swiftly eliminated through internal strife, marking a tumultuous period known as the War of Roses, named after the various flower factions involved. Among the factions with flower names, the Schwarze Family led by Hoth Schwarze, endeavored to reclaim the throne for the rightful heir. Hoth initiated a search for an heir apparent and discovered a bastard son born out of wedlock from the family tree lineage. With a justified claim to the throne, he assumed command with his own forces, spearheading the kingdom's reclamation until he secured the throne and later voluntarily ceded authority to the Aliech Kingdom. This decision aimed to integrate the kingdom into Aliech society and entrust leadership to Emil Corbin Versailles upon reaching the appropriate age. The event sparked heated debate in Rosemount, as the abdication to the Aliech Kingdom meant sacrificing autonomy for immediate regional stability. Despite the perceived loss of autonomy and individual rights by their citizens, Hoth justified his decision as one made for the immediate benefit of the living rather than distant future generations, as scholars continue to argue. Despite the bloodshed, the conflict is now presented as a theatrical spectacle for communities to witness as homage to their people and its former memory is now romanticized.
