Quest for the Everflame

An annual tradition in Kassen, the Quest for the Everflame has a group of townsfolk repeating the same journey that Ekat Kassen and their forebearers undertook nearly two hundred years ago.  They go to the Crypt of the Everflame to light a lantern using the Everflame and bring it back to light Kassen's way through winter.
Every few years, the townsfolk select a group of those who are or have just come of age and sends them on the quest. It is seen as a taste of adventure and excitement for the young townsfolk before they settle down into their lives around town and start raising families of their own.
