She Who Hunts the Seas

She Who Hunts the Seas is a demigoddess of war that became infamous during the last days of the Tribunal of Divinity’s rule over the Churning World. She was one of the very first demigods of war to openly rebel against the Tribunal and as such set the stage for the eventual civil war that would result in the emancipation of the warrior caste of demigod society and the complete evaporation of the Tribunal and its authority.   She started off as a demigoddess of war and a servant of the Tribunal like all her brothers and sisters. She was trained in combat and after passing her Trials of Divinity was given a god-weapon known as Hookfang, a golden rod with a large, hook-like pick at the end that had to be held with two hands due to its heft. Hookfang was able to launch the hooked end as a projectile tethered to the rod half of the weapon by a link of light that allowed She Who Hunts the Seas to swing it around like an unstoppable force or hook and grab things so she may pull them to her or her to them. Once hooked nothing could escape her pull no matter the size of the target in question.   She served the Tribunal for many years alongside her partner and lover Thirsts for War, but when Thirst for War’s famous bloodlust and temper got the better of her and got her brought up on crimes of mass slaughter of innocent mortals their union was quickly severed by way of execution. Now without her sister demigoddess She Who Hunts the Seas lost all interest in continuing to serve the institution that took her love away from her and fled to the Land of Teeth.   There she quickly accumulated a following among the raptor-men of the Land of Teeth and taught them how to elevate from the simple skiffs they were known to build into manufacturing large, sea-worthy ships that could transport large numbers of individuals at once. And so began the voyage of the first pirate in the Churning World.   She sailed across the Cackling Sea and the Sea of Storms using the vast network of wide rivers in the Land of Teeth to move from sea to sea. Because much of the Land of Teeth is poorly mapped even by the demigods her exact location was difficult to pinpoint at any given time and her secret lair was even more so.   She Who Hunts the Seas did so for roughly two centuries before she was finally caught in an ambush set by two other demigods of war; Voice of Valor and Hand of Justice. Though taken by surprise she was able to mortally wound Voice of Valor before being struck down by Hand of Justice.   So ended the career of the first and most successful pirate of the Churning World. The raptor-men of the Land of Teeth have since utilized her ship building and her tactics to terrorize the two seas adjacent to their continent ever since.
