The Wolfguard

The personal army of the Dark Queen Taneski, and invaders from another world. Originally, the founding members of the Wolfguard were made up of the four minor factions surrounding Arkhel, warring and constantly bickering over territorial disputes while being targeted by the City-State of Arkhel trying to integrate the wolves into a more modern life-style. Eventually, Taneski helped the Alteraz Pack seize power, and through her influence, the warring packs were united under a single banner. The Alteraz Pack still holds political power with Taneski at it's lead over the whole force with her seat of power being the Forest of Kaul's castle. However, the other packs each brought their own unique styles and influences into the mix, resulting in a segmented army lead by multiple Dukes and Duchesses
Currently a large portion of the Wolfguard are found within Noba Forest, at Howling Castle.  Brought here by Taneski to serve the wishes of their void god, Elsaria.  For the most part they leave the city alone, though they have lured a portion of the homeless population away to work in the fields surrounding Howling Castle.

-The Heart of an Army-

The Wolfguard mostly consists of wolfish creatures, but over time, others have managed to make their way into the ranks depending on merit and loyalty. Each member of The Wolfguard is imbued with a small bit of Taneski's power, increasing their physical strength and endurance, giving their eyes a glowing blue tint to them. Some members of the Wolfguard don't accept the increase, and while it's honored, they are watched a bit more closely than those who accept the gift. The Wolfguard is made up of three major parts; Soldiers, Scouts, and Mages.

The Soldiers

The Soldiers make up the majority of the front-line fighters of The Wolfguard. Typically well armored and covered with dark metal. They use a range of weapons but the majority of their units specializes in axes and shields. Typically found in groups of at least three, the Soldiers are encouraged to fight honorably, and to attack civilians unless threatened with a weapon.

• Hilidri (The Breaker) - Leader of the Soldiers and reluctant Duchess of the Forest Pack.
• Maxi and Ike - A pair of wolves who are actively trying to do good for all involved.

The Scouts

The scouts and hunters take a more sneaky and ranged approach. While they do have a decent bit of armor to them, they are mostly wearing leathers and things that are easier and quieter to move in. They specialize in ranged weaponry, swords, daggers, and more importantly poisons. While they aren't all that great in a straight up fight like the Soldiers, they have many options for weakening and taking out targets before they get close enough scatter them. Typically travel in groups of two.

• Consists of former pirates and raiders.
• Avoids direct confrontations unless severely outnumbering the enemy or leading them into a trap.
• Hold vast network of intelligence spanning Atlantica, Noba, and even the mainland cities.
• Reports directly to The Spymaster

The Mages

The Mages make up a smaller group of powerful casters from the Northern Reaches. Limited in number, they are masters of the Arcane and can lay down long range destruction and take the place of proper siege engines. The majority of the casters employed in the Wolfguard are Wild Mages; powerful mages who's magic fluctuate and draws on pure arcane power. Mages are usually accompanied by either Soldiers or Scouts, but each group tends to have at least one mage nearby for teleportation back to Howling Castle, or to hide them from pursuers.

• Powerful ranged magic. Not well equipped for physical combat.
• Tend to be quiet or refuse to talk.
• Even make the other branches of Woflguard creeped out.
• Reports to the Dark Cleric.
