Alexander Rain
Doctor Alexander Avery Rain is a field archaeologist, historian, world explorer, and father. Alexander specializes in the study of mythology of ancient civilizations of Central and South America. Alexander Rain wasn’t born into a wealthy family, his father was an average salesmen from Chicago, and his grandfather was a Major in the Army during World War II. He studied archaeology at the University of Missouri, travelling extensively to further his research, eventually earning his Ph.D. He was quite successful but was ultimately looked down upon for his obsession with locating his kidnapped first daughter, Katelyn Rain.
While researching at the library, he met Mary Patterson, he was enthralled by her quick wit and charm. When he met Mary's parents, brothers and sister, David, Colton and Susan, they treated him with thinly veiled contempt, though Alexander took their dislike calmly for the sake of Mary. The two were later married, and with the marriage resulting in the birth of their eldest daughter, Katelyn. On July 23, 1989, Alexander and Mary’s second daughter, Clair was born.
During his time working with the National Museum of History, Alexander met Isaac Brody, a historian and professor at NYU. The two didn’t get along for the first few months, though Alexander was impressed by Brody's skill, and his willingness to bend certain laws and the two of them became good friends. By 1998 both Alexander and Brody were paired with Dr. Gerald Wayne to research a possible existence of the Fountain of Youth somewhere in Central America; and if proven real, they were to bring it back for further study. Brody led the team from New York while Alexander and Wayne worked in the field collecting artifacts found on site and sent them back for Brody’s team to examine. On August 2009 Alexander had a theory about the Fountain of Youth being in an underground chamber beneath St. Petersburg, Russia. The theory turned out to be false as Alexander used it as an excuse to follow up on a lead he got about his first daughter Katelyn’s whereabouts, though the lead turned out to be false. Alexander never saw Katelyn again; nor Clair either. In 2010, while in southern Mexico, Alexander is shot and killed by his friend and colleague, Gerald Wayne.
