Aarakocran Empire

A strange depressing land whose story is different depending on who you ask, the Aarakocran Empire is populated almost exclusively by proud Aarakocrans. While being referred to as an empire, it's no longer an apt name. The Emperor controls the main landmass and a small island off the coast.

The capital city of the Empire is known as The Charity of The Sky. Most notably, all property, all buildings, all organizations, everything you can imagine in the city is lead by the Emperor and his Cabal. This means poverty is null, but the city lacks any expression or identity outside of industry and military. Consequently, many Aarakocrans that do not fit in with the Empire's plan end up fleeing. They tend to become pirates, mystics, or wanderers.

Many centuries ago, there was another empire lead by the Aarakocrans known as the dominion that controlled every island except Polpran. Eventually the scholars of the Grand Cloister help organize a militia in Tiupran. From there, each island rebelled until an navy coalition was able to sail on Charity of the Sky and end the Dominion. This is considered the singularly most pivotal moment in the history the "humanoid societies" on the Cloud Sea.
