The world of the Cloud Sea is one hundred percent polytheistic, but there are a few important notes to make on the topic.

The One God All religious authorities agree on one thing: once upon a time there was a singular, all-powerful God. What happened to it is hotly contested. Please read Creation Myths for more information.

Atheism The idea that there are no Gods does not exist on this planet. It’s important to note that Gods and their works have always been clearly visible and documented here. Other places in the multiverse entertain the idea of there being no God, but on this planet it is considered an idea only espoused by the mentally ill.

Religious Strife The idea of war due to religion is uncommon on the planet of ice/cloud sea. Wars occur for other reasons and occasionally align with religious views, but it’s rarely the impetus. Religion is both ubiquitous, but very relaxed. Only the most absurd of Gods have their existence questioned.

Evil Gods Evil gods, however, are generally not worshipped publicly. They are acknowledged and accepted, but considered taboo. That being said, lawful evil gods with important functions are generally considered more savory, as opposed to gods of chaotic evil.

On the Afterlife The reality of, or mere existence of, an afterlife is one of the least agreed upon religious concepts in the cloud sea. Many believe death to be the final end, while others subscribe to the idea of heaven/hell.

Some doubt the existence of ghosts, attributing the phenomenon to other supernatural creatures.
