The Cloud Sea is the central feature of this bizarre and unique planet.
A massive roiling mess of clouds, storms, and ancient monsters, the cloud sea itself is a no-man’s-land. As far as the general populus is concerned, no one has entered the cloud sea and come out alive, although many a drunkard pirate has claimed the feat.
Common rumours claim the center of the sea to contain: a golden tree; a cosmic vessel; the largest, cruelest dragon ever; an ancient spelltome. Some parents even tell their children that terrible children are carried into the cloud sea and devoured by beasts. Other nicer parents say that an old wizard left a mediocre book of knock-knock jokes there. Many reasonable folks agree that the cloud sea doesn’t contain anything other than a monsters and storms.
In spite of any disagreements about what it contains, it is a planetary obsession. Whether it’s scholars seeking lost secrets or scavengers attempting to find treasure laden wreckage, the people of the planet seem to always be fixated on the cloud sea.
