The Table of the Known Elements

Often thought of as a simple and old display of unknown materials whose secrets belong to the smartest of the scientists, the Table of the Known Elements represent a Galactic-wide effort made by many scientists and organizations to compile every single type of simple substance to be found in the Galaxy. The idea was first conceived by the inhabitants of all of the 3 "original" planets, but was quickly remade to be comprehensible for all citizens of the 3 worlds, eventually becoming a common idea for the entire Galaxy after the Colonization of the Galaxy happened.   The Table would spread to the entire Galaxy and its use with it. It's simplicity, universality and the easy way it conveys meaningful information to scientists is the main reason of its extended use.

Structure

The table follows the concept of the fourth subatomic particle: The Nucleon This particle exists in the exact center of an atom, being 2 the maximum amount of Nucleons in an atom and none the minimum. This creates the need of 3 different periodic tables, one for each amount of nucleons present on atoms. These tables are usually represented as one massive table, but their inner workings are the same as in our universe: Protons change the type of atom and the amount of orbits increases with for each electron an atom has.   Due to the many cultural, idiomatic and sensory differences between species, the Table of Known Elements as well as all elements within had to be represented by a symbol system common for every single user all around the Galaxy, so it was decided to create a symbol for each possible atom, with no letters, numbers or anything that could leave a species without the capacity of understanding the table.

Common Examples of Atoms and their representations:

Numbers shown represent the amount of Nucleons-Protons said atom has.   0-1 Hidro: Being the lightest of all atoms, it is known for its lightness and its capacity of creating energy by nuclear fission. It is represented by a straight, vertical line.   1-18 Adamio: Common in the planet with same name, this is a very cheap and easy to find metal used in aerodynamic surfaces and cheap machine parts. It is represented by a triangle pointing to the right, within a circle.   -

Inventor(s)
The Table can't be said to have a single inventor, since more than 300 scientists from all around the galaxy contributed to the discovery and research of all elements included within, but the first person believed to have thought about the creation of a unified table for all simple elements was Tobashi Takaro.
