The Halls of the Mountain-Kings
Meaning 'deep-dwellers' in the Dwarvish tongue, refers to the dwarf clans who dwell deep below the mountains of the continent. For reasons unknown to the outside world, the mountain-dwarves retreated underground some centuries ago.Engines in the Dark
Unbeknownst to the surface world, the Kings under the mountains are leading their people in an industrial revolution. Colossal steam engines fed by coal burn under the mountains, powering colossal mining projects. The use of the phrase "Dwarven Engineering" for hugely over-engineered projects has reached even surface communities, though only the Dordarim know how accurate the expression is.Contentious Politics
Those with familiarity with the Dordarim know that it is not really a nation, but a collection of dozens of competing holds and kingdoms. Feuds and inter-clan warfare is not uncommon, battles playing out deep underground, where the surface-dwellers take no notice of them. The Gates of the Underdark
The Dordarim know too well the many dangerous of the deep. Any self-respecting mountain-dwarf has tangled with kobolds, dark mantles, or worse before they even came of age.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
