Oric

Once a monster hunter born to a long line of monster hunters, Oric participated in the Siege of Caletum in 3022 CA, in which the revolutionary Burgomeister asked him and two companions to smuggle the legendary blade, @Crownbreaker, out of the city. In the process, he apparently drew the blade, which must have consumed his mind. His companions were subsequently captured by the Royal Army of Corcien, but he himself and the blade remained missing.
More recently, reports have surfaced of a "King of Highwaymen" operating in the border region of Corcien, robbing travelers and attacking local settlements. The rumors match the description of Oric and Crownbreaker. The declining power of the Corcien court is overwhelmed by threats in other parts of the Kingdom and so far has not dealt with this upstart.
