Tethired

A Nation at War

Tethired was a mostly stable Human-Elven Kingdom for many centuries, until a conflict between the regional nobility and new bourgeois and the central nobility and ruling family boiled over into all-out civil war seven years ago. The war has ravaged the once-proud country, and the ancient royal family now hangs in the balance.

The Royalists

The royalist faction is lead by King Elancour II, a half-elf of the centuries-old Tethir dynasty. The Royalist forces are aligned with the Celestial Order and favor the traditional feudal rights of the high nobility. The Royalists do have the allegiance of the Arcane Universities at present, and field many battle-mages and artificers alongside their cavaliers.

The Parliamentarians

Led by Regnald Gauldur , the anti-royal forces favor a parliamentary democracy and a state church devoted to the Leveller cause. Gualdur was himself a mere captain in the parliamentarian army when the war broke out, but has since distinguished himself in battle and risen to the position of generalissimo of all the parliamentarian forces. Because of their allegiance to the Levellers, the Parliamentarians have drawn the support of many war-clerics, who are often seen in their armies.
