Jäd
Lady of The Moon
She is one of the figurehead Deities of the Valka Belief Pantheon. Jad is Goddess of the Moon; the spearhead of light. She is considered to be the frontline fighter for the 'Victory of The World', battling the forces of 'Defeat' where they are the strongest; during night.
Jad is a very important figure to the Drow, as they claim that it was Jad who gave them life during 'The Long Winter' in exchange for making them nocturnal and changing her appearance. As a consequence, she is their patron Deity, and Drow often prefer female Soothsayers, as they believe them to be closer to the 'Lady of the Moon', as she is often referred to.
Though she is thought to be strong, her fight is seen as a brutal struggle, reaching its most desperate hour during New Moon and its most success during Full Moon. When a Blood Moon arises, it is thought to be her holiest time, as it is believed that she has slaughtered a towering enemy from the Dark, and has now bathed in its blood.
Many important historical events -- especially for the Drow -- are claimed to have occurred during, and because of, the Blood Moon.
