The Kenku Shanty

A song that is heard throughout the fields and works where the Kenku are made to labor in Oman. This is peculiar, as the Kenku cannot speak or sing a proper song without first hearing it. The story goes that the last Kenku to speak sang the hopeful tune, and as his brethren were cursed, each one repeated one verse so that all of them could sing the entirety of the song, even if out of order. Nowadays, the Kenku slaves sing the song, repeating the verses from slave to slave. The Kenku believe that one of their own always sings a verse, and that so long as the Kenku live they will sing the song, no matter what the Omani try to do to stop it.
