Hingen

Few people live in places as far north as Hingen. It is a small settlement in a frozen wasteland where only the tough survive. The only visitors that come here are travelers searching for the giant folk, either for research purposes, or the glory achieved in defeating one. The people living here are a tough bunch. Originally Hingen was a small trading post which eventually grew into a decent village, quite large in fact, considering its location. Not many people settle in the far north, a land of cold winds and snow storms. Making a living here is not easy, but the people of Hingen haven grown accustomed to it.
The village is isolated from the rest of the world and has embraced things that aren't as common in the more civilized lands. Witchcraft is commonly accepted and Stelga, the village witch, is a well respected and important figure. She is often sought after for council and guidance. She likes to bestow gifts upon them too, though these gifts aren't always what they seem, and sometimes the recipients wish they didn't receive them at all.
