Cania

The 8th level of the Nine Hells, and Clarity's  home plane. Ruled by the Archduke Mephistopheles, it is a frozen wasteland, reaching temperatures of -60ºF. Its single citadel, Mephistar, is the seat of power for the Archduke and is the only settlement in the 8th layer.
Infernal tieflings from Cania have a close knit clan-like family structure, predominantly matriarchal, with pairs of sisters often serving as the head of the family and their arcane advisor.

Ecosystem

Frozen tundra, does not sustain organic life outside of Mephistar.

Localized Phenomena

Spells that deal cold damage are upcast by 1 level in Cania, and cantrips are cast as if you were 1 level stronger.
Similarly, the reverse is true for spells that deal fire damage.
