Ruat (roo-at)

A shard of a staff that grew from the chromatic rose planted in the Nyx chamber of the Caverns of Thought.
1/day, you can use a bonus action to sense the presence & location of aberrations, celestials, constructs, elementals, fey, fiends, or undead within 60 feet. Once this creature is sensed, for 1 minute afterwards, you ignore all cover for this target and know its location even if it turns invisible.
The word "ruat" means reigns.
The fire elemental that Søren disturbed in the Flaming Pits Bathhouse described it as a family heirloom. He offered the Party 1 month to find the shard or 1 week for 500g to be bribed for not giving the Bathhouse a poor review. The Party chose the 500g.

History

Ruat is one of seven shards of the Rod of Law. It was made to bind a "god" by the Wind Dukes of the Plane of Air, and was thought lost until this discovery.
