The Battles of the Plunge

A series of non-distinct air-naval engagements fought between rival fleets during the War of the Wyrms above the Pilgrim Lands.

The sheer amount of ships that suffered splashdown is what gave the battle it's name, and the remainder of the fleets ended up fleeing the continent, still fighting the other splinters as they went.

The survivors of the wrecked ships would eventually band together and ally themselves with the natives of the Pilgrim Lands, and eventually the societies developed into what became the Farcast Union.
