The Things Beneath the Roots

"That being said, I have collegues who are certain that the position on the World Tree Model does, in fact, have a part to play in the formation of the realms and life that they would spawn forth. One of these collegues, a gentleman who had an unfortunate bout of fatigue and had to be admited to hostpital care some months back, argue that we must be upon the branches of the tree since are world is ordered to the comprehension of the mortal mind.   Heat and cold opperate consistently, distances do not change once measured, and the cycle of day and night is equally consistent.   He argued that this was due to the structure being determined as the concepts and Aether moved up through the trunk of the tree and into the branches. He surmised, through his own logic, that the roots of the world tree would then be a chaotic mess that would boggle the mind. Should a world form down there, if they even can, then nothing would act as we would expect it to. There is no chance that life could form in such a world, of course. How could they survive? He insisted, however, that there was life there. This was near the time of his exhaustion, mind you, so I do not think he was thinking with reason, but he actually insisted that such life already existed and was in some ways antithetical to our own.   How? I never quite got that out of him before his incident, but whatever it was certainly scared the poor man to the end of his wits."
