Church of the Blessed Song
The Church of the Blessed Song is a particularly strong branch of the Yagont faith within the Host of the Nomele. They act independently of other sects of the religion and while the technically praise all the Host, they are most specifically devoted to Yagont. They are actively involved in the collection and retrieval of art and literature which has made their libraries the envy of many nations. This has allowed them to create the College of Arts and Sciences within the city of Aisirmuir. While most clergy are more interested in the arts, the financially minded members of the church realized the potential and so employ many scholars and sell research and learning services throughout the Island Continent of Bellflower and all over Gorel. In fact it has become so successful that educational services are one of the major industries of the small island. This is bolstered by revenue from noble children to the college as well as the export of books, plays and other sundries. The great mage scribers of the college have restored a variety of scribing and copying mageworks that enable them to be one of the primary publishers of inexpensive fiction and reference materials in the region.
The current leader is Cardinal Llevion who is an accomplished playwright and author. He is getting on in years and it is expected that he will start a selection process for a replacement. Such expectations have been fueling a fervent passion for impressing the praised man in acts of all kinds of skills. A current fore-runner to the position is the current advisory Sorantor to the Republic of the Harping Thistle's ruling committee, Friar Youroth.
Priesthood
Most specific to the Church of The Blessed Song is that they only admit those with artistic talent into the official priesthood, though they do collect ancillary employees for various enterprises. Tests for admittance can involve plays, recitations, recitals and poetry reading. This means that most are highly skilled at entertainment and the annual clerical review is a highlight of the entertainment season with many of the scripts finding their way to publishing and re-enactment over the entire continent.
Granted Divine Powers
The word is powerful and many of the clerics have found it can be used in unique ways to fascinate, entice and encourage. Some have developed such a divinely commanding tone that they are sought after to market goods of all kinds.
