Matermar

This large city is the seat of the government of the Matron Mysterium. It resides on a lucrative ocean bound trade route network, and has significant navel prowess. Known as the ocean hub in the south of Bellflower it acts as a trading hub to the east with New Minam and has seen a rise in transcontinental politics with emissaries from far away Soramizu and Wydir.

Government

While the nation is rules from here, the city government is led by the Hertug of Matermar and the nobles of the Vertic Court.

Defences

The lighthouses on either side of the bay entrance also act as outposts for the Peoples Reavers protecting against oceanside attack and providing a good view of the region. The city itself has older walls, though some districts now reside outside those walls.

Infrastructure

The most well known part of the city are the massive docks. Even prior to the creation of the Mysterium this was a well established port city. Being on the east side of a natural bay, there are three separate dock districts spread out over the west of the city. The mount district contains the remnants of many older buildings that have been repurposed over time.

Architecture

Much of the city was destroyed following the The Plague of Silmora and the Great Flare so the only architecture remaining was some of the sturdy stone construction. Most homes have been rebuilt with a mix of wood beam wattle and dob architecture, with larger buildings in a mix of broken stone, mortar and covered in hardened plaster.
