Qualtz Jade
Qualtz Jade is not an actual jade but a magnesite laced serpentine. It is used frequently in the construction of magical shielding and in ceramforge resins. While a valuable resource, it is not usable without some knowledge and sizable machinery. This makes it a poor target for run of the mill theft unlike gold, platinum and silver.
Mining
It's mining is hazardous and miners must wear facemasks to prevent eye and lung problems associated with the material's dust. Strong ventilation systems and humidifiers are used to help keep the dust down. There are two common methods of preparation of the stone. First, collecting and preparing a powder for a separation of the serpentine and magnesite for subsequent use is composite materials. Second, it is processed into large slab sheets for an application of a mineral alloy for shielding plating.Properties

History & Usage
Cultural Significance and Usage
Formed into large jewelry pieces, especially popular for large hat pins and chatelaines.
Industrial Use
Used as one of two principle ingredients for magical shielding, the other being adamantine alloy. It can be used in thin sheets with adamantine to prevent teleportation, scrying and limit the radiating of magic auras.
Additionally it has been used as an additive in a variety of ceramforge destined artificial resins. It improves strength and allows for easier enchanting, as well as being used for magic breaking effects. Some resins are used in directing flow of magic energy and are used in the maintenance of magical portals.
