Seawings
While there are many tamable land beasts, and air borne beasts, sea creatures are a different matter. After many broken necks and backs trying to ride porpoises, it was concluded that a different mechanism would be needed to create an underwater cavalry force. Grafts of fins work well, but are a permanent alteration that was a tad bit unpopular due to the difficulties of flippers in boots. Spells are great but rely on an available caster to be ready and have spells available use. The Seawings are said to have been developed in the second dragon imperium to equip soldiers to attack denizens living underwater.
These are popular amongst divers for pearls, muscles crabs etc. It is also helpful in sending diplomatic delegations to undersea kingdoms, such as the merfolk kingdom of Narsaid east of Soramizu or the merfolk kingdoms of the Shoalen reefs east of the Island Continent of Bellflower.
Initial Use
Originally designed for underwater warfare against sea dragons, aboleths and giant squids. Many have additional enchantments that allow for protection against lighting damage, as electrical attacks are particularly effective and spreading underwater.Common Versions
Akvor Model
This is one of the more popular models due to it's portability and minimal weight. It is more expensive to create than other sets and doesn't have the same level of propulsion as other models. It consists of a set of three pieces consisting of a belt of underwater movement, a neckband of water breathing, and a nodule of depth resistance. These bulky crablike suits have a large backpack and wetsuit system. These are hard to carry overland due to their weight but are cheaper to manufacture and include a propulsion system.5e Item Notes

- Belt of Underwater Movement: Wondrous Item, uncommon your standard speed now becomes your swim speed, allowing you to move normally while swimming on top of or under the water.
- Nodule of Depth Resistance: Wondrous Item, uncommon This nodule attaches to your chest when saying the command word. While active on your chest you may travel in depths greater than 200 meters without suffering ill effects, and can ascend rapidly without suffering nitrogen sickness. You may still suffer possible ill effects at depths greater than 1000 meters.
- Crabsuit: Wondrous Item, uncommon This device replaces armor and clothing with a Sea Leather suit with crab like ceramic armored plates. It allows you to breath underwater as a cap of water breathing, gives you a swim speed of 60 feet, and allows you to withstand depths unto 1000 meters. It also behaves like a suit of Half Plate, granting an AC of 15+dex (max 2), grants disadvantage to stealth and weighs 40 pounds. It allows you to drag twice what you would normally be able to while underwater, but must be regularly moistened to retain these properties.
