Szulc

The Szulc family was once the rulers of Republic of the Harping Thistle, but in the last 20 years under Lucjan Szulc it has turned into something quite different. It is an open secret that the family has begun trading extensively in black market goods. This includes slavery, necromantic wares, and stolen property. They also run a series of protection schemes to precent unfortunate events from occurring to their clients.
Given their position to have a provisional vote on the ruling council of the Harping Thistle and significant bribes it has so far been hard to pin down or successfully prosecute the family. This has put them at odds with the current Administrative Consul. The silver tongued David Szulc placates the Committee of Sorentors well, though this stalemate can only last so long with Lucjan's aspirations and growing boldness.

Structure

Much of the family operates as you would expect with close relatives being given positions of authority, though there are a few exceptions with problematic family members or helpful friends of the family.

Culture

There is a strong sense of Family first over all else, so most indiscretions are hidden and never admitted to publicly so as to maintain a clean facade. Most of the family prominently display their crest of a bronze shield with a face split in the middle between the left male and right female.
