2. Fortune on the Road
General Summary
The party woke in Kragmarr Inn to the sound of festivities outside. The inn's common room was crowded with visitors, and through the windows they saw a travelling caravan setting up their wagon-shops.
They decided to do a little shopping before they headed out, and bought a few items from a tinkerer, as well as getting their fortune read by a mysterious woman in many-layered robes. This mystic declared that they all had an important role to play in the dark times ahead.
The party had planned to leave at dawn, and the caravan had put them behind. They made haste on the road, but, as they rode along, however, a flash of red scales from the brush drew their attention. The party dismounted their horses and cautiously approached, but when the dragon wyrmling leapt out, their mounts fled in terror.
The party noticed that the dragon was injured, however, and decided not to anger it. Instead, they spoke with the haughty youth, offering to heal his wing if he would leave them be. The dragon huffily accepted, and the party continued on foot.
They decided to make for a nearby trading post to pass the night before continuing north.
