Personal history

As a child in the Dzungjeni Jungle, Tasha made her way pulling pranks and playing games during the few moments when greater responsibility didn't call her away from the adventures of the elven forest. Her older brother, Metezi always seemed to be around during the times she caused the most trouble, giving her a light, public scolding before assuring her newest victim that she wouldn't wreak such havoc again.   As a young adult, her antics settled, and pranks became fewer and fewer, and the weight of adult responsibilities drover her learn more about social dynamics, about people, how they think and what drives them. She learned most of all how to bond with new people, creating a sense of mutual investment to deepen the bond between two individuals.   Her father was the human half of her parents' marriage, in an effort to help the two races gain some common ground, with her tribe often at odds with the various human factions. For a time, during Tasha's childhood and young adulthood, it seemed that their union was a success. It wasn't until one of her father's former associates arrived that this seemed to change.   A darkly clothed man with a ragged scar running from his eye, in a line going back across the top of his head arrived one day, and while Tasha didn't overhear the conversation, she watched as her father left with them. Several nights of worry later, that man returned, but insead of bringing her father home, he brought a small army, that set to lighting the forest ablaze, slaughtering the elves as they went. In their treetop homes, there were few means by which to quickly descend the trees, but her home was equipped with a seldom used method. Though they can only hold one person at a time, some homes were equipped with emergency lifts that would allow one to descend from the canopy with some help from an individual above. Her brother rushed her to one of these lifts, ushering her inside. He was able to safely see her most of the way down, but she fell, being knocked unconcious by the drop she sustained.   Some time later, she awoke, covered in leaves and ash. The jungle was uncharicteristically quiet, but there were the sounds of the mercenaries that attacked the tribe, searching what remained for loot and survirors. By the merit of having known the terrain longer, Tasha was able to escape the mercenaries, eventually making her way to a small Gnomish outpost on one of the rivers within The Crown. She offloaded what she had of her family's wealth, as it would only make her more recognizable, and purchased passage toward the center of The Crown, the capital.   On this trip, Tasha met an old Gnome that recognized her natual talents for stealth and social interaction, as she often simply took what she needed, and talked her way out of trouble if she was ever caught. He took the time to teach her how to better employ subterfuge and skullduggery, in the case she should need to do this when her marks would be less forgiving. She took his lessons to heart, practicing relentlessly on his lessons until they reached the Outpost-City Privigrad.   Here, she spent the next year and a half honing her skills as a freeelancer, taking up with trade caravans as security, or following the odd adventuring party to their next goblin cave raid.   More recently, she started to receive offers of emplyment from an establishment called the Pritis Company. Fearing that having a stable employer might tie her to one location for too long, she's rejected their offers for several months; however, this most recent offer has piqued her interest.
