Bastion

The Bastion is a large area of forest and jungle that has been cleared of all trees and ground flat by PCLCVs, it is the first real attempt at terraforming large parts of Daxu for farming and agriculture. Due to the thickness of the jungle and forest canopy over Daxu it is extremely hard to find open land to farm and so staples like grains and wheat are hard to come by and usually have to be imported from other planets.
In times gone by the Elves of Daxu would create small glades where they could farm enough food to survive. With the advent of Red Amber based technology and the resulting population explosions there was a need for more farmable land.
Thus these peninsulas to the north were walled off with enormously thick concrete and steel walls buried deep into the ground, they were then ground and burned flat. After a period of allowing the ground to settle the first crops were planted.
