Mercenary

Hired gun for the right price, specialises in shooting first and asking questions when paid too.


 

The Mercenary counts the following skills as career skills: athletics , discipline , gunnery , ranged light , ranged heavy , vigilance , presence . Before spending experience during character creation, a Mercenary may choose four of their career skills and gain one rank in each of them.


 

Weapon Handling: Mercenaries may start with one of their career weapons skills at rank 3.
Keep their heads down: May add an additional b to Suppression attacks.

The world is full of Mercenaries, men and women with guns who stand ready to exact violence on people for causes of any morality, choose this career if you are expecting to shoot your way out of any situation you encounter.
Street Warriors believe there is nothing more personal or precise than a blade or a club or a sword or anything else that relies on the strength of their arm. Street Warriors prefer to get up close to their prey and show them the meaning of strength, choose this career if you want to show the world what a well muscled arm and a weapon can do.

Street warrior

There is nothing more personal than a knife through the throat, or a sword, or anything else up close and personal.

Chipper

Specialising in subverting InterFleck systems and generally sneaking around in cyberspace.


 

The Chipper counts the following skills as career skills: Computers , cool , mechanics , discipline , skullduggery , stealth , survival , ranged light . Before spending experience during character creation, a Chipper may choose four of their career skills and gain one rank in each of them.


 

One with the Grid: Once per game a Chipper may remove up to b b b from a Computers check.
My World: Chippers gain b when fighting in Fleckspace.

Fascinated by the flow of 1s and 0s across Fleckspace the Chippers are information retrieval specialists best at home in cyberspace. Choose this career if you want to chip(hack) security systems, robots, and generally make computers yours.
Since the dawn of time everyone has had a good scrap, and since slightly after the dawn of time people have been required to put people back together. Doctors specialise in the art of medicine and keeping people alive. Choose this career if you want to make sur the rest of your party is kept alive and able to protect you.

Doctor

No matter what, the world always needs people willing to patch up holes.


 

The Doctor counts the following skills as career skills: Cool , medicine , resilience , survival , vigilance , knowledge(street medicine) , knowledge(surgery) , melee light . Before spending experience during character creation, a Doctor may choose four of their career skills and gain one rank in each of them.


 

Improvised Medicine: May remove up to b from a Medicine check when not using the correct equipment.
Anatomical Knowledge: Once per Combat can add b b to a single attack targeting a specific body part.

The face

All organisations need someone capable of negotiating the best deal, thats the job of The Face.


 

The The face counts the following skills as career skills: Cool , discipline , vigilance , ranged light , charm , leadership , negotiation , knowledge(*) . Before spending experience during character creation, a The face may choose four of their career skills and gain one rank in each of them.


 

Silver Tongue: At Character Creation can choose any social skill (even non-career) and add a single rank to it for free.
Approximate Knowledge Can choose any single knowledge domain as a career skill.

The Face believes you can talk your way out of any problem, either through careful negotiation of the problem, a few little white lies or even sheer brute will. Choose this Career if you're not particularly fussed about violence and want to talk your way into and out of anywhere.
Machines have a spirit all of their own, be they cogs and wires or intricate silicon and red amber chips they all need a little love every now and then. Choose this career if you want to be able to build contraptions or keep the latest line of mech suits running.

Mechanic

Like a Doctor, but for machines. The ability to fix technology is a god-send in this modern world.


 

The Mechanic counts the following skills as career skills: Computers , mechanics , driving , gunnery , ranged light , knowledge (weaponsmith) , knowledge (cybertech) , knowledge (mechanical) . Before spending experience during character creation, a Mechanic may choose four of their career skills and gain one rank in each of them.


 

Jury-Rig: Once per session remove b bfrom a single Mechanics check.
Extra Gubbins: Can add one extra hardpoint to any item, even those with 0 hardpoints.

Operative

An operative specialises in sneaking around and retrieving things, they prefer operative, they aren't thieves.


 

The Operative counts the following skills as career skills: Athletics , perception , stealth , streetwise , skullduggery , melee light , ranged light , deception . Before spending experience during character creation, a Operative may choose four of their career skills and gain one rank in each of them.


 

Shadow Blend: Add b b when hiding in dark shadows.
Critical Strike: Once per game add ss to a single attack.
 

Get in, get out, don't get caught, and if you do get caught dispose discretely. The Operative takes the greatest pleasure in never being famous and only being known by what they take. Choose this Career if you want to sneak around without being caught or sneak behind a foe for that one well placed knife in the dark.
Vehicle Operators feel the need, the need for speed. These people specialise in all the various vehicles of the Crucible: Ground cars, air cars, void ships, void fighters basically if it has a stick and a throttle the VO is there! Choose this Career if you fancy yourself the pilot of the team or the close air support.

Vehicle operator

For driving a car around town or flying the latest void-fighter these people are one with the machines.


 

The Vehicle operator counts the following skills as career skills: Coordination , mechanics , operating , driving , piloting , vigilance , gunnery , ranged light . Before spending experience during character creation, a Vehicle operator may choose four of their career skills and gain one rank in each of them.


 

Seat of the pants: Can remove b for any manouevre deemed risky by the GM.
Red ones go faster: Increase speed rating of your vehicle by 1 (providing it has a red stripe).

Scrapper

Scrappers are masters of invention and making do. They excel at tinkering and mechanics.


 

The Scrapper counts the following skills as career skills: Coordination , mechanics , melee light , operating , streetwise , survival , negotiation , knowledge (engineering) . Before spending experience during character creation, a Scrapper may choose four of their career skills and gain one rank in each of them.


 

Bodge Job Remove up to b per mechanics check when not using the right tools.
Shiny things?When searching for extra parts, gain bonus parts per a rolled.

Scrappers are not scrappers in the fighting sense, they are able to look at a machine or an object and see the potential of the parts. They specialise in building new and inventive things from things and generally can be seen as quite quite mad.
