The settlement of Bran Grove is founded to look for Oil.
The Bran Oil Concern put up the money to begin exploratory drilling deep in the Black Rain Forest looking for Oil to refine into fuels and plastics. Ultimately they find a large deposit and over time the place grows from an expedition rig to a small town.
