Cat

Cats, not to be mistaken by what are regarded as lesser cats. Are a feline race of keepers, storytellers, guardians, and scholars.

Their origin is unknown, but through their spoken history it is said that long ago the green god tasked them as keepers and protectors of the smoking sea. This is often regarded as the Great Duty amongst their kin.

Cats often find themselves Selected from litters by Keepers at a young age when they exhibit higher intelligence. Though it is unknown exactly how it is that the trait is passed on. Cats will often find themselves at odds with their newfound awakening and Great Duty when separated from their litters and witnessing the lack of understanding from members of their former colony.

As such Cats often find themselves alone in the world, often keeping in distant touch with other members of their intelligent kin. In search for companionship they'll often visit civilization and cultural centers where they're seen as a curiosity.

Cats often make partnerships with Elves, halflings, gnomes and humans of similar alignment and interest. Their Great Duty will take them to many places, though very few know of their often secretive agenda aside from other kin.
