Captain Damon has heard of some rumblings when stopped off at Waterdeep
There have been a few rumors from patrons at The Yawning Portal (Waterdeep) that trouble is brewing in the Underdark. That the dark God's of the depth dwellers aren't happy.
Captain Damon doesn't put much stock in those rumors since he figures it's just people familiar with The Yawning Portal and its history, just trying to make a bit of coin, selling stories to young inexperienced adventurers. Captain Damon gives the backstory of The Yawning Portal, should the adventurers ask.
He and his crew have had a couple run ins with drakes and small dragons during the last year of their travels. It's been nothing serious, however it seems abnormal because previously they almost never ran into dragons.
To the far south, in the region of Candlekeep and Baldur's Gate, there is word of people in dark robes and masks, stylized like dragons, running around. It is unsure what they are doing but rumors circulate that they are accumulating wealth thru any means necessary.
