Mican Hatuli

Mican Hatuli is a Lofi singer made notable by her use of acoustic and electric magic in place of traditional speech.
Mican is mute so took to sign language as her primary means of communication, though due to its lack of widespread use, it left her with a language barrier for quite a while. She began experimenting with electrical magic at a young age, enjoying the sound it made, eventually gaining finer control over the specific sound it would make. With time she was able to refine it into a crude synthetic speech, and eventually, a clear, though still synthetic sounding, voice. She uses sign language as a focus for her magic, giving her greater control over volume and tone.

Body Features

Mican has a somewhat lanky build: tall, but with rather narrow shoulders. She is visibly fit, though not skinny and without significant muscle definition. She has a fairly average level of body fat, a small chest and slightly noticeable hips, her legs and arms are both fairly slim and long. She hasn't got much body hair, besides the typical places, just a light covering that is often only visible up close, as is fairly typical for lofi.
Mican's heart hue, a light malachite green, colours her hair, eyes and extremities such as fingers, toes, ears and nose.

In her personal life, she wears fairly traditional lofi outfits, being particularly fond of floral patterns.
When performing, her outfit varies a lot, typically themed towards the music she is performing or who she's performing with. Most of these outfits are designed to feature her heart hue, giving her a consistent malachite green pallete.

She wears a set of conductive metal rings on each finger, using them alongside her magic to add some extra control of pitch and tone.

Mican is a skilled music composer, writing and scoring most of her songs by herself. She typically works in the context of her own magic when writing which can make it hard for others used to more traditional music notation, but her ability to do fairly adequate impressions of real instruments allows her to share it with someone who can transcribe it. Despite her composition skills covering many different instruments, she isn't actually able to play many of the real instruments. Her skills in this aspect are limited to piano and drums, though she rarely opts to use them as they impair her ability to sing at the same time thanks to taking focus away from her magic.

While unable to speak directly, she can speak and sing via the use of magic. Her magic voice is feminine and synthetic sounding, bearing resemblance to digital voice generators such as Vocaloid or other text-to-speech software.
Mican is able to use her magic voice, both with and without accompanying sign language, which she uses as a focus for the magic. Without it, she speaks softly and quietly with a distinct fuzziness, but when she uses it, she is able to speak much louder and with wider controls allowing her to sing using it. While not speech per say, she can also use her magic voice to make a number of sound effects, along with the ability to generate clean square, triangle and noise waveforms that allow her to sing chiptune music of complexity similar to what can be seen on 8-bit game consoles.
She often speaks with a noticeable melody, even when not singing. This is largely unintentional but can give clues to her current mindset and mood.
