House Tanor'thal
House Tanor'thal was the dominant house in the drow city of Karsoluthiyl, a drow city located beneath the Trackless Sea, west of the mouth of the River Chionthar. Their main rival was House Lysaen. Both houses were big players in the slave trade of Skullport.
House Thanor'thal's secret to gaining the upper hand over House Lysaen was the clever use of a portal network. Much of their trade was done between their main stronghold in Karsoluthiyl and a portal at their outpost of Kyorlamshin. In its glory days, the outpost was led by Matron Tanor'Thal's niece, Kesra. Captured slaves destined for Menzoberranzan were sold in the bazaars of Skullport. The house also profited by purchasing many luxury goods from Menzoberranzan and the surface world that the drow of Karsoluthiyl desired.
The family's seat of power was Kyorlamshin, House Tanor’thal's Fortress, a spider-shaped fortress built into the cavern above Skullport. Bregan D’aerthe has recently captured the fortress for their own purposes.
