Eadric
Eadric, a childhood friend of Aeschs from a hall near Stafford. Eadrics family and Aeschs previously had friendly relations going back several generations to the time of King Offa and the conflicts with the Welsh. It was tradition that youths of each hall would spend several years growing up as wards of the other family. Aelfric was always the more reasoned of the two, as he tempered Aeschs tendency to go on impulsive 'adventures' as they played, though his own wry sense of humor got them into enough trouble as well. They learned to fight together and stood the shield wall shoulder to shoulder during the war. By the end though, one had a home to return to and care for and the other did not.
