Part 1: Kingdom's End Chapter 14 Lincolin Report
General Summary
The Warband learned that the forces of Ivar were on the move and had ceased their efforts to hunt them for the moment. They decided to make their way overland back to Ipsam and seek out Reeve Graeme while returning Andhere home. The overland journey was uneventful but took precious time. They arrived and found that Ipsam was lightly guarded by Reeve Graeme as many of the men had been drawn to a place called Wrexham by King Ceolwulf to conduct punitive raids into Gwynedd.
Thegn Fairley had gone to watch Ceaster to the north to ensure that the Brittons there did not attempt to strike south while the King's forces were busy but otherwise the watch was quiet. Osma and Kestrel were present to be defended by Graeme while Ceolred attended to the King. Aesc warned that Ivar might be coming to attack and the warband agreed they should go to Wrexham to warn them they might be overextending themselves.
Osma made herself known to the party and taunted Huw relentlessly, demonstrating to the warband that she was not to be trusted nor trifled with. Aldwyn had a quiet moment with Kestrel who wished to join them in war but doubted that she would be let to do so. Andhere convinced Reeve Graeme to give his daughters hand in marriage to him.
The party was convinced by the Priest that his bad dream might mean danger for Fairley, so they decided to head north first to tell her of the coming threat before going to Wrexham. Reeve Graeme accompanied them with the intention of conveying the news to the King directly. When the warband found Fairley, they found her under assault from the Brittons and rescued her in a skirmish. They asked why she had been attacked, and it appeared there were other forces arriving at Ceaster and she was going to warn the King.
Aesc found a vantage point and looked out over the bay, seeing the arrival of Ivar's fleet.
