Politics in British North America

In 1978, after rising unrest, the British North American Parliament was established in the form of a devolved unicameral legislature comprising of 101 members having authority over many areas of domestic policy. The elected head of the British North American Government is the British North American First Minister, who serves alongside a nominated member of the British Royal Family.

UK Parliament

British North America has ten Members of Parliament (MPs). After signing the Declaration of Dependence in 1784 each colony was given representation in the UK Parliament, and another MP was added when South Ontario joined British North America. Although the population of British North America has grown rapidly since this time to rival even that of the Great Britain, there have been no changes to how British North America is represented in the UK Parliament. There as been movements towards this, but due to the extra focus British North America is given by the nominated member of the British Royal Family, and the split between those who want more representation and those who want to join the United States of America, there are rarely issues or crisis enough for these movements to gain traction.   The ten British North American MPs meet between Parliamentary sessions in order to bring forward British North American issues to the UK Parliament, in what is known as the British North American Representative Delegation. The Delegation meets in a chamber of the British North American Parliament known as the Nine Star Chamber. The Delegation is currently made up of five Democratic Socialist, three Conservative, one Liberal Democrat and one Thirteen Colonies Party MPs. The Thirteen Colonies Party MP does not take a seat at the delegation or in the UK Parliament.
