Abandoned City

The Abandoned City is not actually a city but rather the rundown, mostly abandoned section of Southside, Brookhaven.
Setting of most of The SoulChild.

Demographics

No one lives here anymore except for the homeless. Some of the quieter and/or less violent gangs hang out here as well, such as the Cobra Venom gang. Besides those, the only people who ever go here are fishermen and dockworkers.

Industry & Trade

Fishermen and dockworkers work at the dockyard. The fishing industry is pretty lucrative.

Infrastructure

Lots of courtyards, short roads, the dockyard

Districts

The dockyards are usually divided from the rest of the place in people’s minds. The rest of the Abandoned City is often referred to as the ‘Hall to the Dockyards’ because the only legitimate reason to go through it is to reach the Dockyards, like how the only reason people walk through hallways is to get to other rooms.

Assets

You can often find old trinkets people left lying around. People will often take furniture from the houses. Some people leave weapon stashes hidden around the place.

  • History

The Abandoned City used to be a bustling area of the city where lots of people lived. Many of its inhabitants worked at the docks, and people even swam there during the summer. However, eventually the city started working on a project of creating more houses in other parts of the city, and all the inhabitants moved out for more modern and less broken down housing. Then eventually in more recent years criminals started using the place to hide out, and the homeless swarmed in to squat in the less dilapidated houses.

    Points of interest

The only part of the former neighborhood people with normal lives go to is the dockyards. Though many of the houses in the area look very pretty, even in their rundown states. Gangs use the larger courtyards to hold street fights.

    Architecture

Most of the buildings around here are of Gothic or Victorian style, and made of stone.

    Geography

It goes right up to Lake Huron. The ground is pretty flat.
