Cozy Hangout
A quiet cafe owned by a sweet old lady, that is a nice place to just hang out in. Located in Eastview close to Southside.
Purpose / Function
For people to buy hot drinks and dessert foods, and to hang out with friends.
Design
Inside is rectangular, with cream and brown walls. The floor is made of reddish tile. The walls and ceiling are plaster.
Entries
The main entrance, the door to the kitchen and the kitchen-to-outside door.
Sensory & Appearance
Smells of the coffee and baked goods that it sells. The colours and decor are really pleasing on the eyes. It is very bright, but in a soft way, with lots of windows for natural light.
Denizens
Contents & Furnishings
Counter with chalkboard menus behind it. Round wood tables with black chairs. Pale yellow and white curtains.
Valuables
There are cozy paintings of cottages and farms and things like that on the walls.
Alterations
The walls have been painted and the place has been fixed up a little a few times over the years. It’s been made a bit more modernized.
Architecture
Made of bricks and wood. The door is red, the roof is black.
History
Built by Ethel Brisby’s father and grandfather which they ran for many years as Brisby and Son’s. Eventually her father passed it onto her when he got too old to run it, and died not long after.
Tourism
The more adventurous guests to the city do sometimes find it, and this generally helps with making their experience positive.
