Hjan Spellvin
Hjan Spellvin was the second of the Grey Kings. He succeeded Oman Phariff in 2190 AF, and was on the throne of Anoomenon when the Trade Wars came to a violent end in 2208 AF. His astute understanding of the new realities of politics after the destruction of Allport and the failure of the Allport League, when both the Merchant Guilds, and the "victors" at Freewater failed to capitalise on their collapse, led directly to a new and much more powerful role for Anoomenon. Under King Spellvin, Anoomenon started its rise to become the pre-eminent power of the new age, an age some would call the Golden Age of Anoomenon and the Long Northern Peace.
After the loss of the spaceport at Green Atoll Station, following the fall of Allport, the monopoly which the rulers of Modyran now held on travel into orbit and beyond, provided the equatorial city with huge financial benefits. Hjan Spellvin's most astute decision was an immediate long term bid to gain some of this wealth for Anoomenon by sponsoring the development of a spaceport at the client city of Sonnring. Construction began as soon as 2209 AF, and although it would not be able to provide the same level of service for several years, it marked the intent of Anoomenon to be considered a serious power in the new age.
