Jayne and the Monster

Jayne and the Monster is a young adult novel by the renowed author, Xandra Omuthe, writing in the middle period of the age of the Old Pale Empire.
The book is a supernatural tale with a disquieting theme as Jayne learns how to be a monster from a monster. It is never quite clear how far we can believe her narrative, how far she can trust the monster, and how far the reader can take either of them at face value. As events progress we begin to doubt Jayne's motives until a surprising twist reveals a whole new dimension to the story.
